In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of project development throughout the project lifecycle including facilitating meetings and communication amongst project team members and monitoring adherence to project deadlines.
The Positive Train Control (PTC) Systems Engineer will be responsible for overseeing design, delivery, and set up of the Positive Train Control (PTC) Office (control center) Subsystem for the Long Island and Metro North Railroad project. You will work with a global project team of developers and engineers, and be a primary customer point of contact for the subsystem.
In this role, the selected candidate must have an experience with Cisco MDS 9200, Zerto, Virus Protection Vshield Endpoint, Citrix Xenapp and Xendesktop, VPN, Load Balancers and WAN Acceleration appliances.
The position is responsible for assessing all aspects of commercial engine design (including part and module interaction) relative to established program metrics (performance, weight, cost, life, and other physical and functional requirements) as the product matures through subsequent IPD phases, and guiding /coordinating the delivery of design solutions (many via trade studies) that address gaps to or improvement of program metrics.
The ideal candidate is one who understands complex electrical and mechanical subsystems, and how they interact with software, manufacturing, service, and external vendors, to fulfill product requirements.
This position is responsible for expanding and maintaining infrastructure in support of a rapidly growing company. Strong experience working with cloud providers is a must, familiarity with large hardware installations a plus. Needs to be extremely familiar with modern CI/CD tools and automation.
In this role, you will work well independently and in a team environment, communicate with other team members or clients and make decisions appropriately after consultation to support assigned projects.
