As a GE Global Research (GEGR) Niskayuna Site Safety Engineer you will work closely with Facility Engineering, Facilitators, Craft employees and other EHS Team members in identifying electrical, chemical, physical, and mechanical hazards associated with facility maintenance, renovations, and lab modifications.
In this role, the selected candidate will assume responsibility for the operation of secure and highly available critical infrastructure systems and services; design and lead installation, maintenance, upgrades, and continuous improvement of the Institutes physical security environment and law enforcement system.
The successful candidate will assess tunnel ventilation and fire-life safety requirements for road and rail tunnel projects, including new infrastructure builds and rehabilitation. Some travel is required on an irregular basis for field measurements, client meetings and general inspections.
In this role, you will perform calculations under supervising engineer/designer. Produce clear and concise drawings consistent with client requirements and firm organization format and drawing standards.
The Process Safety Engineer will contribute to AMRIs Process Safety Management (PSM) program. This includes conducting hazard analyses and process risk assessments, establishing compliance with regulatory requirements; and identifying hazards and mitigation approaches during the design development, systemization and operational phase of the project based on knowledge of regulations and industry standards, lab or kilo-lab equipment, personnel and manufacturing techniques.
