The client seeks a network engineer responsible for protecting the clients global assets and interests which include systems, software, networks, computational elements and data through deep knowledge of network and communication channels.
This is a senior subject matter expert (SME) position in the global networking team, working mainly on projects in various networktechnology areas. Projects can range from solution engineering of new technologies, to developing standards based on industry trends and best practice, to optimization of current infrastructure configuration for operational efficiency.
Analyzes voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.
Maintain high service levels for both datacenter LAN services and client facing WAN services; maintain a hardware lifecycle program for all networking equipment for both datacenter and client side WAN implementations.
Monitor systems and provides information and statistics relevant to system capacity limits on data storage, system utilization, etc. to the project manager with enough lead - time to avoid system crashes and data loss.
Responsible for creating network diagrams and documentation, perform site surveys, create parts list, configure and test equipment, coordinate outages and install/activate circuits and network equipment.
This is a senior level position that will be responsible for managing the configuration, installation and on-going support of the Network Infrastructure which includes Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, Brocade switches, F5 load balancers and Checkpoint and PaloAlto firewalls.
