This position is responsible for Supply Chain Optimization of the Supply Chain for a major Electronics business with a top DOD Space and Aerospace Contractor located in the North Eastern USA (NY/NJ suburb area).
Responsible and accountable for logistics and distribution resources/structures, processes/practices/tools and key performance indicators that enable outstanding service to geographic area of responsibility. Monitors the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods.
Requires research, negotiation, and coordination skills to deal with multiple suppliers and obtain best available prices, quality, and delivery. Must be able to coordinate property management effectively at all organizational levels to meet deadlines on multiple projects and to implement personal property procedures.
In this role, you will collaborate with Operations and Sales to define client requirements and solution alternatives; provide analytical support for development of operational pricing and transportation solutions.
The Purchasing Project Manager must manage all of the projects in purchasing and the team. The Manager must ensure all team members effectively carryout out their tasks and adhere to processes and procedures. The Manager must be aware of workload and ensure the team is adequately staffed to promote team efficiency and output. In addition, the manager must have a solid understanding of all business departments affected by purchasing projects and proactively communicate with other teams and departments.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparation, review and staffing of lifecycle logistics documents to include Core Logistics Assessment, Core Depot Analysis, Lifecycle Sustainment Plan, and Business Case Analyses supporting the above documents.
Work with suppliers on their value creation processes and challenge them to reduce costs (and prices) by taking out wasted steps along their value streams while improving quality and responsiveness. Point out the root causes of waste in supplier operations and work out plans for essential improvements.
