In this role the Database Administrator will monitor company SQL servers and verify disaster recovery plans. The Database Administrator will also have a key responsibility in guarding against down time with proper design and implementation of configuration, upgrades and patches at the OS and database engine level.
As a senior database administrator / architect at Gordon Food Service you will be a part of a Data Services team committed to serving the data needs of a diverse application technology space that includes a large custom development core and numerous package applications.
Provide efficient database environment to maximize productivity and improve performance; monitor file system space and database allocation; create, develop and review physical model created from the logical model, ensuring the detailed physical design of data structures complies with standards, guidelines, and procedures recommended for all aspects of data modeling, database design, and maintenance.
The Senior DBA must take ownership of the database and associated processes; the DBA will work with the architect and business analyst but will maintain responsibility for database integrity, synchronization across environments, performance and adherence to standards.
