The JAAMS Systems Engineer reports to the Systems Engineering Manager as part of the JAAMS System Engineering team, which provides development efforts around JAAMS technology stack. The scope of the JAAMS System Engineering is the US Perso Centers currently Atlanta, Jacksonville and Rhode Island.
The Linux Systems Engineer is a member of the infrastructure operational technical team and is proficient in key Linux technologies (SSH, bash scripting, etc.). This position will focus heavily on IT security matters, especially system patching, security agent deployment, and other tasks dictated by the Turner ISO.
This engineer will work heavily with ISO staff to understand their requirements and ensure their needs are met within the BEST organization; frequently assists with large projects under the guidance of senior staff.
Work with: software developers, who focus on code authoring; systems architects, who focus on large scale system relationships; business analysists, who gather business requirements; and vendors, who create many of the components Systems Engineers use.
This individual will be responsible for managing the network support of 10 different clients. 50% projects (server builds, migrations, adding new users, etc.) and the other 50% maintenance (on-going troubleshooting of desktops, laptops, mobile devices).
The incumbent will be responsible for planning, designing and supporting the systems infrastructure, including but not limited to physical and virtual servers, backup systems, and all data center system infrastructure technologies. The ideal candidate must be able to work closely with architects, engineers, vendors, and customer-facing teams to design, build and maintain highly available production environments.
