This position will be responsible for managing the buying spend for one or more commodities as well as leading/coordinating one or more programs. Expectations include development of a long term supplier strategy, cost management, and engagement with R&D, Quality and Manufacturing to proactively manage the commodity and obtain the optimum combination of cost, quality, delivery and service from suppliers.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies.
Propose and specify tailored ETAS big data solutions that improve the customers vehicle development processes. Lead and manage technical interaction with customers including providing technical presentations, introduction of new solutions, driving the resolution of critical customer issues and tracking open/closed action items. Serve as the interface between the customer, product development and product management.
The Senior Buyer will bring new creative, strategic ideas to the company; this position will also identify cost reductions in VAVE, LTA, and rebates, report out on market movements and monthly financial impacts, negotiate payment terms with suppliers, and develop and implement continuous improvement ideas.
In this role, the selected candidate will work directly with the project team (operations, engineering, program management) to ensure suppliers understand company requirements and can deliver as needed.
