The successful candidate will work with a team providing system administration support for the state-of-the-art nuclear test monitoring system that acquires, processes, reports, and archives data from a worldwide network of seismic, hydroacoustic and infrasonic sensors.
Maintaining system patches, as well as operating system, in accordance with Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance; scanning systems and assisting the team in remediating vulnerabilities using ACAS.
Install, configures, tests and maintains; server - based systems on multiple enclaves, distributed applications, storage area network devices, messaging applications, and monitors items required to ensure functionality of systems in garrison and at deployed locations.
Serve as a member of the Server and Applications Team and will assist in performing operating system installation, configuration, upgrades and maintenance primarily with Windows Servers, but can possibly include Linux.
Provides additional systems administrative support as required in additional areas such as databases, file servers, print servers, network access, mobile devices, application and web servers, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Exchange, Archives/Backups, virtualization, Information Security, virus protection, storage solutions, and COOP.
In this role, the selected candidate will install, support, and maintain the Exchange and mobile messaging environment; install, support, and maintain Microsoft Servers in physical and virtual environments.
Support and administration of onsite and remote systems, familiarity with backup infrastructure (primarily Networker, DataDomain, Avamar, and DPA with legacy instances of Netbackup, BackupExec and HP Data Protector).
