The successful applicant will be responsible for advising clients on the tax implications of their business objections, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance, identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues.
In this role, the selected candidate will prepare and/or review federal, state, local, or foreign tax returns, including consolidations, sub-consolidations, elections, disclosures and corresponding tax work papers and files.
The primary responsibility of the role is to prepare and manage the preparation of a broad range of individual, corporate, trust and other entity tax returns, including those with high degrees of complexity.
The Tax Manager is responsible for the compliance function on clients including supervising the preparation and technical review of corporate, partnership and personal income tax returns. In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for managing effective tax rate and cash taxes, leading quarterly and annual accounting for income taxes, overseeing federal and state tax audits, driving strategic tax planning, supporting and educating business units on tax issues, managing and mentoring the tax department, and more.
In this role, the selected candidate will maintain the highest level of client service as measured by Metrix Matrix survey scores and client retention to ensure that quality products and service are provided to all clients.
In this role, you will oversee the outsource process of all U.S. jurisdictional sales/use tax returns to ensure they are filed accurately and timely in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and rulings in effect for all Scholastic business units.
