Work with commodity managers and quality team to evaluate supply gaps to identify and develop new suppliers to support the product line strategy. Support commodity buyers with pipeline of future and new projects to enable the development of commodity strategies.
Support financial team including invoice support, resolution of inconsistencies or discrepancies identified as result of 3way match (comparison of purchase order to receipt to invoice), and dispositions including resolution of materials, variances or issues.
Coordinates the negotiating of vendor terms, prices, and purchasing of raw materials and production supplies to ensure compliance to company standards using knowledge of financial management, decision making, discretion, budget and schedule requirements while adhering to company purchasing policies, processes and procedures.
Work with the Procurement and Accounts Payable teams to improve the vendor maintenance system as needed. Maintain service provider(s) scorecard to benchmark and evaluate level of service on a regular basis.
Interpret information from engineering changes and process information to suppliers and manufacturing providers; responsible to keep up to date with all Quality Management System(s) changes within the organization.
This position is responsible for supporting the development and execution of Global Commodity Strategies designed to leverage worldwide purchase of raw materials, components, and various products required, in support of the Original Equipment and Aftermarket businesses.
The Logistics Analyst contributes to and is responsible for the optimization of the transport flows and costs associated with Tenneco (North American inbound, outbound and expedited transport providers). The Logistics Analyst also has responsibility for service and performance levels provided by the transportation supply base.
