This Cost Accountant position will support two ZF TRW sister plants in Fowlerville and Fenton, Michigan. Both plants manufacture antilock braking and stability control systems and are high volume operations.
The Comerica Cost Accounting Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining unit cost information that supports measurement of profitability from a product, geographic and organizational perspective.
This position is responsible for supporting Resources Global Professionals (RGP) clients with both project and operational requirements including business process reengineering, financial system conversions, merger integration, assessment and implementation of new accounting standards, reconciliation of complex accounts, and execution and improvement of internal and external financial reporting.
In this role, you will be responsible for
assisting external auditors with annual auditing process. Executing cost accounting functions, including establishing standard cost, understanding direct labor and inventory and analyzing cost of goods sold.
This position requires an individual who is very detailed, can multi-task, is a dedicated professional who enjoys interacting and providing exceptional customer service to clients and other team members.
The cost accountant is responsible for managing the month end cost rolls, participating in the month end close process as well as interpretation of operational reporting, monitoring of actual results, forecasting, planning and analysis. The role also assists the Controller with developing the annual plant budget, capital spending proposals and new product costing.
In this role, the selected candidate will assist controller with providing meaningful analysis for management including monthly reporting on departmental budgets, inventory, and other ad hoc items as requested.
Serves as an interdepartmental liaison and works with internal and external auditors to prepare for and facilitate audits. Ensures departmental and organizational compliance with current accounting standards, hospital/foundation policies and applicable laws and regulations.
This candidate is responsible for coordinating efforts of internal process owners and subject matter expertise. He/she will develop contingency plans to eliminate obstacles to on-time and on-budget completion of the project.
