Identifies customers' purchasing requirements and technical specifications. Determines design approaches and parameters for testing and qualifying electromechanical equipment and systems with and emphasis on HVAC equipment.
Identify opportunities to streamline operations and promote efficient and productive ACAD techniques within the planning department; attend coordination meetings to work with engineers and other trades to coordinate the projects work.
Support and develop the use of statistical techniques, develop validation protocols, qualify first articles, complete process capability studies & process validation on both internal & supplier processes.
Evaluate customer returns for root cause and corrective actions, utilizing formal problem solving tools such as 8D analysis, PFMEAs, Control plans, etc. and being able to tie this analysis back to operations standard work and product documentation.
This position will primarily be paint process oriented with focus on process definition, process improvement, process efficiency, quality and reduce cost while globally aligning with customer initiatives.
Investigate component cost and weight reduction, and conduct feasibility for packaging electrical components and brackets throughout the vehicle as well as managing development projects, negotiating development & purchasing strategies, and coordinating with other departments, suppliers, and manufacturing.
