The primary function of this position is for the development of sophisticated solutions for various initiatives and projects the IT applications department will undertake using Big Data technologies and related platforms.
Good understanding of concurrent manager, how it works, how to correctly stop and start, configuration of specialized managers, differences between types of manager, and how to diagnose issues in the concurrent manager system.
Primary responsibilities of this role would include owning, tracking and resolving database-related incidents and service requests, fulfilling Service Level Agreements (SLAs), reviewing service related reports.
This position is to use his/her acquired knowledge of IBM's DB2, systems analysis, systems design, data analysis, database design, and data processing fundamentals/techniques to successfully develop, design, and implement database systems as well as maintaining DB2 Sub-system performance and assisting with Database employee development.
In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for planning and organizing database, Database creation, manage users, password security, privileges & roles, performance tuning, restoration, user creation, script running, patch installation etc.
The candidate will work in a team with other engineers and researchers to develop innovative data driven solutions that integrate distributed sources of data, perform large scale learning and reasoning, and integrate results in collaborative environments to support the business analytics and data provisioning needs of the enterprise.
Position requires working with data warehousing team members, Data Architecture and Integrated Operations teams to ensure the Integrated Data Warehouse compliance are adhered to and the performance and optimization issues are addressed.
Demonstrate technical expertise, establishes credibility with both technical resources and decision makers. Work with client systems, performance, and current and potential data loaded onto systems to facilitate demand creation.
