Assist in preparation for Joint Commission, CARF and other regulatory body surveys. Assist in or directs policy on the unit utilizing evidence based practice. Participates in unit council and Program Performance Improvement initiatives. Attends relevant meetings and communicates information to program members, implements new departmental policies and procedures.
The RN UNIT REGISTERED NURSE delivers quality nursing care to patients through interpersonal contact and provides care and services to allow patients to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Provides professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being of patients. Prepares equipment and assists physician during examinations and treatments. Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, and monitors patient vital signs.
The LDRP/Nursery department has 6 LDRP rooms, one triage room with capacity for two patients and the OB OR. The unit is staffed by Registered Nurses responsible for all areas including Labor and Delivery, Antepartum, Postpartum and Nursery. The volume varies by time of year, but averages 26 births per month and 45 outpatient visits per month.
The mix of patients on this floor make it a great starting point for nurses in our Residency Program and for nurses who wish to become Certified in Medical Surgical Nursing and work at the top of their license with this population of rewarding patients.

Facilitates Care Transitions Intervention to include interdisciplinary collaboration across transitions and coaching the patient and caregiver to play a central active role in the formation and execution of the plan of care.
