The Day Surgery Registered Nurse will maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice in order to meet the health care needs of patients, their families, and the community.
The RN provides nursing care to patients in compliance with the SC Nurse Practice Act, Standards of Practice and defined by ANA, SFHSC, and organization protocols, policies, procedures and guidelines. Develops,implements, evaluates and revises plan of care based on physical, psychosocial,spiritual, and educational needs of the patient/family.
Perform a complete assessment of assigned patient's ongoing physical and emotional status, level of competency, home environment, safety factors and family support available to assist with care and needs of patient.
Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
Collaborates with staff, physicians, and other disciplines to provide quality care delivery. Maintains clinical knowledge and skills competency to facilitate patient care in accordance with current standards of practice. Provides for a safe patient care environment.
The nurse fosters the relationship between the palliative patient to establish and triage patients for care, communicating with families, and interacting with a disciplinary team that is responsible for the plan of care.
In this role, you will perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: training,, nursing administration,, clinical skills,, functions of nursing care of the patients, patient rights, and safety and sanitation.
The PCU Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering quality patient care for their assigned hospital unit. The quality of care given will be determined by keeping within the philosophy, mission, and values of both the hospital and the Department of Nursing.
Provide day to day guidance, support and direction to direct patient care staff, providing informal feedback on an ongoing basis and formal feedback input for the annual performance evaluation. Participate in the department staffing and the appropriate hiring, firing and disciplinary actions. Recommend disciplinary action to Clinical Manager and initiate as appropriate.
