This position requires a working knowledge of Data Network Devices including but not limited to DSLAMs, ATM switches and routers. A working knowledge of IP networking, ATM networking and MPLS networking is also required. Also required is knowledge of communications protocols like TL1, SNMP, HTTP, XML and SOAP.
Responsible for providing custom data network operational support, design, engineering, and planning for complex global data network and communications projects involving TCP/IP and related protocol connectivity for networks supporting company customers in a 7x24 environment.
Collaborate extensively with peers and management to resolve client issues while actively contributing to a growing knowledge network that improves the effectiveness of our team and the information available to our clients.
This position will provide support to the spin off process and the L3 GNS Team; work with other Operations teams (server, storage, backup, network, etc) to determine ways to support the spin off process.
Actively participates in the upgrade, patching, and installation of new and existing applications and equipment; demonstrates initiative in completing assignments, always focusing on the needs of the customer.
Responsible for all network devices, application support, and computing assets required for an enterprise level client to include but not limited to: Servers, Switches, Routers, Wireless and Virtualization environments.
General duties include managing internal systems, effectively researching and provide guidance leading to solutions with our strategic direction initiatives, monitoring system infrastructure and security, and assisting in supporting disaster recover/failover scenarios.
Performs problem analysis and acts as technical specialist for the complex deployments and provides highest-level crisis management; participates, contributes, shares in the development and improvement of service offerings and delivery collateral.
