Manage network capacity in cooperation with the Network Operations Center (NOC); handle escalated trouble calls and work closely with the NOC, engineering, field technicians, and telecommunications carriers to resolve service issues.
The Sr. Network Engineer position will be responsible for the definition of, design of, hardware selection and certification for all fiber commercial Enterprise services/product. This position will also be responsible for the oversight and ongoing mentoring/training of Network Engineers within the Spectrum Enterprise Engineering team.
Installs new releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves network related problems. Perform system backups and recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure network integrity.
Analyzes voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.
Communicate with customers directly and by proxy through Account Teams to understand prospective customers current network architecture, perform needs' analyses, and produce strategic, cost-effective network solutions in response to bids and requests for proposals (RFP).
