Analyzes voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.
The Sr. Network Engineer position will be responsible for the definition of, design of, hardware selection and certification for all fiber commercial Enterprise services/product. This position will also be responsible for the oversight and ongoing mentoring/training of Network Engineers within the Spectrum Enterprise Engineering team.
Installs new releases and system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves network related problems. Perform system backups and recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure network integrity.
Responsible for defining standard configurations and topology of all core, edge and CPE routing and switching equipment necessary for the delivery of all optically-based Spectrum Enterprise products and services. This includes selection and certification of equipment.
The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Network Engineering team responsible for providing network operations support for the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Candidate must have a working knowledge of networking concepts and technologies, including routing and switching or voice and collaboration.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing engineering design and technical support for an enterprise class routing, switching and wireless environment including Voice Over IP, SIP, QOS, VPN, wireless technologies and network based handheld and printer solutions for Arrows regional and distribution facilities globally.
Communicate with customers directly and by proxy through Account Teams to understand prospective customers current network architecture, perform needs' analyses, and produce strategic, cost-effective network solutions in response to bids and requests for proposals (RFP).
