This position reports to the Senior Manager of Accounting Systems and interfaces with related corporate/operational directors/controllers to ensure that the consolidated financial statements are reported in compliance with US GAAP.
Prepare recurring and ad hoc special reports, providing information to various regulatory agencies, donors and other stakeholders. Act as a resource in providing financial statement support and documentation to the auditors.
The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day general accounting operations of the Firm, to include the production of periodic reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records.
The position monitors adherence to standard operating procedures through every accounting cycle and suggests updates to procedures as needed. The position improves and standardizes processes using ABS principles.
Performs General Accounting duties including preparation and submission of financial results. Provide analysis and monthly reporting for management. Ensure accuracy of data and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Interact inter-departmentally and with internal and external auditors on a routine basis.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reporting packages at month-end including monthly cost center spending reports. This analysis includes ensuring expenses are recorded to the appropriate account, making any necessary accruals, and providing explanations to management regarding variances to budgeted/forecasted spending levels.
The Sr. Accountant is responsible for general ledger accountability and financial reporting as well as financial profitability analysis. This role may lead and/or direct the work of Staff Accountants or Jr. Accountants.
