Support the full lifecycle of systems development for avionics products including concept design, system architecture, definition and management of requirements, modeling and simulation, managing suppliers, managing cost and schedule, System Integration Laboratory (SIL) integration, aircraft integration, verification, and flight testing.
In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for incorporate into control panel software all key systems including motors, actuators, sensors, motion controls, vision systems, HMIs, PLCs and other devices.
Responsible for providing construction/manufacturing engineering support to GA EMS programs/projects, such as CVN 79 Electromagnetics Aircraft Launch Systems (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) production, Jet Car Track Site (JCTS) and Runway Arrested Landing Site (RALS), high voltage capacitors, radiation monitoring systems, Gulftronic separator systems, and missile defense systems.
The Engineer will develop new missile CAD models and maintain or update existing missile CAD models. The Engineer will coordinate and communicate with model users and respond to requests for information such as dimensions, mass properties, what-if scenarios, etc.
Install, inspect, repair and maintain the mechanical, electrical and other related systems in all production and supporting departments; inspect, operate and maintain steam, heating, cooling and water treatment systems in entire plant.
The Manufacturing Engineer will support production efforts in terms of safety, increasing output, reducing downtime, reducing scrap, and corrective actions for quality concerns for a given area of responsibility.
The candidate will support colleagues with engineering design and analysis for test facility design (wind tunnels, rocket test stands, jet engine test facilities, etc), modernization, and optimization projects for the aerospace and automotive industries.
Draft machine components and machinery using CAD systems such as CATIA and 3D solid modeling systems; introduce new design ideas and improve current machine products specialty heating elements, chambers, conveyors, etc.
Management responsibilities include supervision of design and drafting staff, coordination with clients and associates, and organization of design and construction administration activities to meet established schedules and budgets.
Designs are verified against requirements using both directed test and constrained random methodologies and are supported from requirements definition through integration and test, and eventually production.
