An Information Assurance Engineer (IAE) is responsible for conducting information systems security engineering activities throughout the acquisition lifecycle. IAEs are responsible for capturing and refining information protection requirements to ensure their integration into information systems acquisition and information systems development through purposeful security design or configuration.
QA Engineers quickly learn the ins and outs of database technologies, R statistics packages, agile software development processes, big data tools such as Splunk, and testing tools such as Selenium, jMeter, and many others.
Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design; I/O design; firmware development; model formulation; manufacturing and development cost projections; computer architecture analysis and design; and analog or digital systems engineering.
Develops, applies, revises, and maintains quality standards for receiving, in-process, and final inspection in accordance with company and contractual requirements. Writes inspection procedures. Reviews and evaluates in-process rejections and implements corrective action as needed. Participates in audits. May provide technical support to inspection personnel.
Work closely with developers, professional services team, and product managers to define methodology required for applications development and/or systems integration in a reliable and scalable environment.
Understand the business problem being solved and understand how to evaluate the solution to that problem.Plan and drive test execution efforts with the goal of building concrete automated regression test coverage suites, reducing test time and improve defect identification.
Designs and implements information assurance and security engineering systems with requirements of business continuity, operations security, cryptography, forensics, regulatory compliance, internal counter-espionage (insider threat detection and mitigation), physical security analysis (including facilities analysis, and security management).
The IA Lead is responsible for monitoring activities and performance of intrusion detection to determine real or implied threats and recommending cost-effective countermeasures validating, managing, coordinating and conducting Information Assurance Vulnerability Assessments (IAVA) for all applications prior to the applications deployment from the Systems Integration Environment (SIE) to the enterprise data center platforms.
