Conduct spend analysis, market research, competitive solicitations, supplier evaluations, and TCO analysis and negotiate contract terms and conditions, including warranty, indemnification, and liability provisions to mitigate risks, and coordinate supplier and contract management activities
The Procurement Specialist will support AvalonBays procurement initiatives, including strategic sourcing, creating and maintaining contracts, negotiating pricing, and building strong vendor relationships in support of managed categories. The successful candidate needs to be able to own a project, make meaningful and insightful conclusions, and ultimately draw upon data to support those conclusions.
In this role, you will develop and manage supplier relationships to negotiate and maintain price and supply conditions ensuring commercial terms are optimized, supply maintained, contracts implemented and managed as appropriate and SAP data maintained.
Monitors supplier deliverables and quality performance; compiles and analyzes data to uncover root-causes for unfavorable trends in supplier performance; recommends solutions to improve supplier performance.
The candidate will be responsible for supporting the procurement team in a variety of capacities. These shall include communicating with vendors with post-procurement questions, assisting with RMA arrangements when required, scheduling deliveries, etc.
Responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies, contracts and supplier performance metrics and measures within the assigned categories of spend - acting as the business partner to the operational departments and budget holders.
