The Analyst conducts organized analytical assessments and evaluations to understand and / or evaluate complex issues to inform decision making, policy development, system development, management, or administration of client processes.
Designs and implements information assurance and security engineering systems with requirements of business continuity, operations security, cryptography, forensics, regulatory compliance, internal counter-espionage (insider threat detection and mitigation), physical security analysis (including facilities analysis, and security management).
An Information Assurance Engineer (IAE) is responsible for conducting information systems security engineering activities throughout the acquisition lifecycle. IAEs are responsible for capturing and refining information protection requirements to ensure their integration into information systems acquisition and information systems development through purposeful security design or configuration.
The ISSO is responsible to the System Owner (SO) and Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) or the Chief Security Officer (CSO) for ensuring that an appropriate operational security posture is maintained for each assigned Information System (IS), or Information Assurance (IA) program (field office).
The PTL Information Assurance SME acts as the lead for all Information Assurance issues and provide guidance in the development, implementation and administration of Information Assurance security procedures, in accordance with established Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) directives and regulations.
Actively participate in and/or facilitate the development, review and approval of requirements and deliverables required to support design control risk management related activities and ensure consistency between projects and products.
