In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for directing and managing accounting functions, which may include monthly financial statements, reporting, cost and budgeting, recoupments, refund processing, system testing, researching returned mail, disbursements, cost allocation, accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, accounts payable and billing as well as the quarterly and annual compliance areas, including taxes.

development of new systems or technical solutions for the business, reviews staff journal entries and account reconciliations, performs user acceptance testing, prepares documentation of standard operating practices, and identifies opportunities for improvement.
In this role, you will prepare and/or review the creation of accurate and timely balance sheet and income statement trend analysis pertaining to life product accounting. The selected candidate will also research, analyze and resolve complex accounting and process issues pertaining to life insurance accounting.
The Payroll Unit, a part of the Accounting Services/Controllers Office, provides administration of all UNCG payrolls for over 7,000 employees and subsequent postings & reconciliations of payroll to the general ledger.
