Support GPS III operations by fulfilling GPS III Launch and Checkout Capability (LCC) Node Management role in support of the on-site lead in Waterton, CO. Monitor, control and provide access to required personnel in accordance with Government and corporate security practices.
You will be responsible for leading others in the preparation of computer-based models, performing power system protection coordination studies and developing protective relay settings for utility, renewable, and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including: transmission and distribution line protection, generator, bus, transformer, and circuit breaker failure protection; communication-aided protection schemes; microprocessor-based relay logic definition.
Responsible for implementation and support of VOCC Monitoring Tools (COTS products - ESQ, KeyNote, SCOM, Netcool, etc) in IT infrastructure based on business requirements and adhering to tight operations, security, and procedural models.
The Systems Engineer III is responsible for assisting design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide Operations Support Systems (OSS) applications and their associated operating systems and databases.
Will be paired with more experienced engineers in performing: requirements engineering, use case development, logical architecture modeling, and interface definition. Expected to include task assignments on IRAD projects and the C2BMC program.
The successful candidate will become part of a team of systems, network, hardware and software engineers engaged in the successful completion of studies, to include presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts that will provide the roadmap to future development efforts for the SBIRS program.
The engineer will be knowledgeable in Information Assurance practices and have knowledge regarding the use of security tools (e.g., Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) compliance or Lockheed Martin LMI standards) to scan and maintain GPS computer resource accreditations.
