In this role, the selected candidate will work closely with the development team to respond, clarify or define specific application behavior, look/feel and function; diagnose moderately complex issues, evaluate, assist in the recommendation and execute the best resolution.
In this role, the selected candidate will provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.
In this role, the selected candidate will provide Operational support for the data warehousing applications, including quarantine maintenance, troubleshooting, monitoring and resolving bugs and production issues in a timely manner.
The SE will play a primary role in creating and maintaining OpenFAST, which will be an open-source whole-wind- turbine simulation tool based on the established FAST v8 (https://nwtc.nrel.gov/FAST8). FAST is mostly written in Fortran with several C/C++ components.
