The Physician Assistant or Nurse practitioner will provide direct clinical care for patients hospitalized on inpatient Medicine services. Works closely under the supervision of our Hospitalists Physicians and will work in close communication with the unit's multidisciplinary team which includes social work, care management, and nursing.
Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physician. Collaborates with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan as necessary.
Develops and implements treatment plans that are aligned with the practice preferences of the Collaborating/Supervising Physician(s) including orders for medication and/or other treatment modalities, the need for additional testing, consultation to other providers, and follow-up provisions.
The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with the Electrophysiologist, Cardiologists, Cardiothoracic Surgeon, and staff to provide high quality, patient centered care at the Heart and Vascular Centers Grand Junction location.
Serves as advanced practice provider for Weight Loss and Wellness Clinic, working with other endocrinology, internal medicine and gastroenterology providers with the ongoing care and treatment of physician-directed weight loss patients.
The NP will work collaboratively with the Electrophysiologist, Cardiologists, Cardiothoracic Surgeon and nursing staff to provide high quality, patient centered care. This role is integral in providing both outpatient as well as inpatient care. Includes evaluation and management of pacemaker, defibrillator and heart failure cardiac devices including device interrogation.
