The Senior Medical Director is a high-profile, client facing role, requiring collaboration and strong client relationships across all levels of the organization to ensure goals are met. This executive physician will be comfortable interacting daily on the floor with clinicians including case management, nurses, social workers, administrative, and physician staff.
In this role, the selected candidate will develop strategic lifecycle management plans for products, ensure contingency and backup plans regarding competing products, adverse events, new indications, and other possibilities.
In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for developing long-term strategies for recently approved drugs, providing medical support to the marketing and medical education teams, and participating in Key Opinion Leader identification and interaction planning.
This position is also responsible for reviewing and optimizing the current gpo contract portfolio, developing and executing product standardization with a facility in conjunction with the division supply chain team.
In this role, the selected candidate will ensure alignment of oncology/advanced illness clinical strategies with the goals of Anthems Commercial and Government Business, Health Care Management and Corporate Strategy, as well as the efforts of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association to promote value and quality of care.
