In this role, the selected candidate will develop remediation scripts to automate as much as possible; evaluate, test, and define configuration item stack for all hardware and software components within the architecture specific to Unix/Linux derivative operating system servers.
Duties also include viewing and responding (as appropriate) to events reflected in the various management tools, server patch management, attending various meetings and participating in forward thinking activities and automating common tasks where appropriate.
Act as the front line for NyRoc, RIO, Unified, JDSU and other applications i.e. NetCool, Remedy/AP, OpsWare, Splunk, Storm, Guavas, Console access to NDC2, Mail LDAP application issues, reporting all bugs or lingering issues to development. Support for Netcool will be handled for interaction with OSS system.
You will also be responsible for maintaining these systems, configuring both operating systems and software products, as well as installing required software patches and security updates for the systems.
