Provides safe and effective training and oversight of the delivery of home dialysis therapy to the patient in compliance with standards outlined in the Home Peritoneal Dialysis Policy and Procedure Manual, or/Home Hemodialysis Policy and Procedure Manual, as well as regulations set forth by the Corporation, state and federal agencies.
The Staff Nurse actively participates in professional role development activities including continuing education, quality assessment and improvement, and the review and clinical application of research findings. The Staff Nurse develops ethically sound practice.
This individual will assess patient and document findings, administer medications, as well as assess and address patient/family educational needs regarding end-stage renal disease, dialysis therapy, diet and medications.
Responsible for planning, executing and evaluating the nursing care given to surgical patients. Has patient contact during the immediate pre, intra and immediate post-operative periods, monitors the activities of all nursing staff during the procedure to which she/he is assigned, demonstrates clinical skills, and serves as team leader on-call emergency situations.
Remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treats co-workers, patients, families, and all members of the health care team with dignity and respect.

In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, executing, directing and evaluating direct and indirect nursing care given to the surgical patient and is expected to meet the patients needs utilizing the nursing process and ensuring continuity of care during the surgical experience.
