In this role, you will be responsible for preparation of tax returns (corporate and individual tax returns and also sales tax, commercial activity tax, etc) for corporations, partnerships, individuals and trusts. Advising clients regarding the structuring of transactions and entities and providing consultation regarding accounting and tax planning and other tax matters. Possible review of junior staff returns depending on level of experience.
The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for financial analyses and operations accounting (Inventory, sales and cost of sales) support to KSEA. The Senior Cost Accountant is expected to develop relationships across the organization, be results focused, and communicate ideas effectively. This position will work closely with the Associate Director of Operations Accounting to oversee, implement and maintain operations accounting systems and procedures and ensure the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of operations accounting data.
Preparation of recurring journal entries as part of the month-end close process includes: fixed assets and related depreciation in the Fixed Assets system/subledger, prepaid expenses, intercompany transactions, accruals and cost allocations, customer invoicing and application of cash payments in the Accounts Receivable system/subledger, revenue recognition and cost of goods sold, and debt/equity financing and investments, among others.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing general accounting duties, including the preparation of timely and accurate financial statement variance analysis, journal entries, reconciliations, and performing month / year - end close procedures.
This position is responsible for supporting the external reporting of the Company, including but not limited to Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) filings, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) quarterly and annual filings, California Public Utilities Commissions (CPUC) annual filings, Energy Information Administration reporting, benefit plans filings, trusts filings, etc.
