The Sr. Systems Administrator will be responsible for provisioning and maintaining Solaris and Linux systems supporting database and application layer services for production, staging and development environments.
Creates documentation of new and existing system configuration and procedural information, and reviews documentation of others. Provides first and second level support for enterprise systems and systems in one or more additional IT domains by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex incidents to minimize system issues.
The Senior Systems Engineer will report to the Director of Technology and with junior administrators to build and maintain various systems including, Windows Server 2008/2012, Microsoft SQL 2008/IIS, VMware, Citrix Xen Servers, Xen Desktop/App, Cisco Call Manager.
The Senior Systems Administrator will work as part of a high-caliber team of experienced Systems Administrators, Network Administrators, DBAs, and Application Administrators to ensure uptime, availability, and performance SLAs are met in an environment that is constantly evolving and expanding.
The Sr. Systems Administrator will also be responsible for small-scale Systems Engineering tasks, including working with other departments within Skybox in order to gather requirements, evaluate alternatives, and architect new systems to meet those departments needs.
The System Administrator is responsible for 24x7 support, technical development, and implementation of a highly available Windows network; including operating systems, DNS/DHCP, AD, server hardware, related software utilities, performance monitoring and tuning, and scripting all within a VMware environment.
