The staff RN is a professional caregiver who is responsible for designated patients for a specific time frame. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process, the environment, and other health care resources to meet the specialized age-appropriate physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of all ages of patient populations assigned.
Prescribing, delegating and coordinating nursing care provided to patients. Provide patient education & coordinate the activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining the standards of professional nursing practice.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor and/or manager.
To provide direct nursing care to residents under the medical direction and supervision of the residents attending physicians, the Director of Nursing Services, and the Medical Director of the facility.
Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse.
As part of the Whiting Surgical Suite Team, the Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the planning, implementing and evaluation of care for a given patient population with the established standards and practices of Crouse Hospital. This process is enacted through direct clinical practice, management of patient care and general professional duties.
