The successful candidate will develop and optimize cutting-edge diagnostic technologies for use as an IVD. Background in product development for Class II and III assays is preferred. Expertise in design control desired.
The postdoctoral scientist works closely with Professor Robert Entman, Shapiro Professor of Media and Public Affairs conducting research focused on politics and policies affecting inequality and on media biases, using computerized content analysis of media.
Develop and apply creative and innovative analytic solutions to complex problems with assistance/support from more senior staff. Play a supporting role in the mentoring and training of new staff individually or as a member of a project team.
The individual will also analyze next generation sequencing data for cancer-related alterations with a close attention to detail and generate reports for physicians, academic researchers and pharmaceutical clients. The successful candidate will be able to evaluate procedures and work closely in a team environment to develop, optimize and quality-control bioinformatics, analysis, and reporting pipelines.
This position reports to the Certifying Scientist Supervisor and Responsible Person. A Positive Certifying Scientist reviews analytical data to ensure accuracy, completeness and defensibility of testing results and reporting documents prior to release of a result report.
Candidate is expected to conduct experiments, investigations, observations and related research studies into the nature and operation of natural phenomena in a particular field, using the scientific method. They will develop theories for understanding, characterizing and organizing natural phenomena into a systematic and meaningful pattern for the benefit of project advancement and emerging technologies.
