The Registered Dietician provides nutritional care through assessments, Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) and general Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME) in the Diabetes Education Center and a variety of settings within PAH and the surrounding community.
In this role, you will monitor and document patients outcomes and/or responses to treatment and modifies intervention to maximize nutrition therapy especially those on enteral and parenteral nutrition.
In this role, the selected candidate will participate in continuing education activities, maintains membership in professional affiliations, and completes a minimum of six contact hours in diabetes and educational principles.
In this role, you will analyze lab-work results and educate patients-and their families-on what to eat accordingly. Your ability to influence and lead will be critical to helping them live better lives.
In this role, the selected candidate identifies malnourished patients as well as patients at risk for malnutrition and works collaboratively with interdisciplinary team to identify appropriate interventions, resources or solutions.
In this role, you will provide basic nutrition assessments and care planning for patients/residents. Plans special diets and supervises their preparation. Instructs patients/residents and/or hospital personnel in basic principles of nutrition and modifications of normal diet. Performs routine care responsibilities without training and direction.
