Ensure the accuracy and completeness of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and medical center outcome. Improve the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation.
The Oncology Clinical Specialists will be responsible for executing market development programs (e.g., patients, nursing societies), collaborating with marketing in the review of educational material, and developing territory plans with District and Regional Clinical Managers.
Provides expert level leadership for overall improvement in clinical documentation by providing proficient level review and assessment, and effectively articulating recommendations for improvement, and the rational for the recommendations.
Provides training and/or supervision to staff physical therapists. May supervise or be responsible for a particular program such as inservice coordinator, outpatient cardiac rehab program, NICU follow-up program and/or day to day operations of a particular area of the department.
Facilitate modifications to clinical documentation through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing staff, other patient caregivers, and medical records coding staff to ensure that appropriate reimbursement is received for the level of service rendered to all patients with a DRG based payor (Medicare, Medi-cal, Managed Care).
