The Workforce Development Specialist is a marketing position (in larger projects) responsible for developing relationships with local businesses, organizations, One-Stop Career Centers, and post-secondary/vocational institutions; recruiting eligible youth for training services; and marketing training services to community organizations/advocates.
The workforce development specialist will identify internship, work experience and employment opportunities for enrolled youth. The workforce development specialist works closely with program front-line staff to understand youths' skills and competencies, career interests, and possible barriers to employment to be addressed and/or considered.
The ideal candidate should be able to prioritize workload and to develop an organize recruitment strategy and process flow. He/She will also be expected to manage workbench and competing demands while transitioning candidates to hires.
