As part of this group, you will analyze proposed transactions for unusual tax risks or undetermined tax benefits, advise clients on tax-efficient restructurings, interpret complex legislative and regulatory actions relating to corporate and partnership transactions, perform financial analysis to assess the tax consequences of specific transactions, assist clients with regulatory and legislative initiatives, and prepare for client review submission requests for private letter rulings and technical advice from the IRS.
Develop strong relationships across a network of existing and future clients and key stakeholders; provide insight, connectedness and responsiveness to all clients while demonstrating a good understanding of their business.
The candidate will also play a supporting role in various tax publications. A successful candidate will be prepared to assist the current leadership in expanding revenue by working with practice offices on existing clients and external opportunities coming through our business development team and possess the following skills
Comprehensive technical skills, including FAS 109, MS Excel modeling, unitary filing, apportionment methodologies, tax base rules, tax research, compliance and consulting as it relates to multi-state jurisdictions.
Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, report and communicate data effectively. Understanding of and ability to apply appropriate analytical tools to control processes, solve problems, monitor performance, provide insights and make recommendations.
The Tax Manager will direct the preparation as well as review and ensure the accuracy of the companys federal and state estimated income tax calculations, income tax provisions under ASC 740, tax related financial statement footnotes and disclosures and regulatory tax reporting.
Ensure that all daily production requirements are completed each day with sufficient documentation to enable USG to defend its timeliness and accuracy with third parties without further contact from our customers.
Establish tax provision policies, and oversee global financial reporting of income taxes and related audits, process and controls supporting financial reporting, and support for other corporate transactions.
