Design, develop/build and test applications, integrations, scripts, automations and other software solutions that meet business objects and requirements, while adhering to the SDLC, security standards, development guidelines and best practices.
Supports multiple sub-groups within the GCI Business Department; responsible for architectural design, development, implementation, and support within the company and/or between business departments that follow telecommunication industry standards using engineering principles.
Engineer II, RF applies engineering principles to design, plan and implement the company and customer networks including satellite, microwave and other wireless or Radio Frequency transmission systems.
In this role, you must have expert level knowledge of installing, deploying, documenting, and troubleshooting network perimeter security technologies such as firewalls, proxy servers, intrusion prevention/detection (IDS/IPS), SIEM, antivirus, antimalware, antispam and unified threat management (UTM).
Responsible for developing and implementing the data models for assigned reports, dashboards and business intelligence applications including, but not limited to, gathering necessary data requirements, understanding presentation layer needs and developing the semantic layer, analytic views, virtualization layers, logical data models, working with the application DBA's to implement better physical data models and working with developers on solving challenging and difficult data and data performance issues.
Provide oversight, technical direction, requirement definition, planning, quality assurance, and coordination of work performed by Customers employees and contractors that are involved in the requirements definition, design, and implementation of Positive train Control (PTC) software.
