Provide comprehensive nursing care for assigned patients under the direction of a physician and follows established nursing standards, procedures and practices, and gives patient care directions to nursing and other staff.
In this role, you will provides preventative health care services to long-term patients and arranges consultations and referrals. Performs physical exams, and may prescribe and recommend treatment and drugs.
Maintains required records and writes progress notes on patient charts as to status, treatments and procedures. With appropriate training, may be designated as a physician's assistant in a medical specialty.
To provide direct care for patients under the direction of physicians while following established protocols and procedures for nursing care standards and appropriate to the needs of the age population served, as defined in the department's scope of service.
