This position will be responsible for the development, implementation and continual improvement of production methods, equipment, tooling and processes in order to manufacture the highest quality parts for some the finest firearms in the world.
Important attributes include the ability to apply creative solutions to challenging mechanical problems along with designing and building benchtop size prototype hardware with the ability to scale to larger fieldable sizes.
The Hot Section Engineering (HSE) organization at Pratt & Whitney is responsible for the development of the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs of the combustor, turbine, and military exhaust modules for aerospace gas turbine engines.
Design of drainage elements relating to road and highway projects, including hydrologic analysis, inlet design, storm sewer design, ditch and channel design, cross drain design, retention/detention basin design, water quality analysis, adequate outfall design.
Define soft interfaces which facilitate group code development while working independently within the planned architecture. Determine feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
Support development of standard work and tools for data collection and data maintenance in support of regulatory and customer requirements and collaborate with other professionals to ensure that P&W meets our business goals and regulatory requirements in this area.
Provide input in new product design to assure manufacturability and evaluate PCB fabrication and assembly drawings. Develop manufacturing instructions, process specifications, and rework instructions for electronic assemblies and perform PFMEA and DFM to identify potential process risks early in the design stage.
The SSIPT Leader will be the single point of contact responsible for the sub-system to meet the all the associated technical milestones related to the sub-system (radial and axial clearances/gapping in this case).
