The individual in this position will perform research in biomedical informatics, bioinformatics, biostatistics, systems biology, or a related field, and engage in collaborations with others at UConn Health and the Storrs Campus of UConn, area hospitals, and the Jackson Laboratory for Genomic Medicine.
This position will also provide administrative and project support to the various business units and requires technical competence in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint with a high level of focus on quality, attention to detail and accuracy.
In this position you will teach and precept residents, fellows, and medical students as part of your faculty responsibilities and may be assigned other duties and responsibilities as necessary (e.g. committee memberships, laboratory section oversight etc.).
Successful candidates will be consummate team players in a highly interdisciplinary environment that brings together clinicians and researchers using cutting-edge genetic and genomic technologies to study human disease.
The primary responsibilities of this position will be in the teaching and clinical training of DMD students in the management of patients with complex medical conditions. Additionally, ability and interest in teaching a pre-doctoral Orofacial Pain curriculum is highly desirable.
To assist TDI faculty and administrators with overall curriculum planning, implementation, and review for courses in all four academic terms; to assist faculty in preparing and conducting courses and in teaching and evaluating students in TDIs graduate degree programs; and to support student learning within those courses.
Teach medical students, medical residents, and neurology residents and fellows in outpatient clinic and John Dempsey Hospital;perform consultations and admit Neurology patients to John Dempsey Hospital.
he candidate will participate in a vibrant graduate student (PhD) and dual degree (MD/PhD and DMD/PhD) training program, and will be involved in teaching and mentoring at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
Participate in the highly interactive and cooperative culture established by the partnership between JAX-GM and company;old a joint faculty appointment at JAX-GM and tenure track/tenured appointment in the appropriate academic Department at UCONN HEALTH, and will work in the new, state-of-the-art JAX-GM facility.
