The successful incumbent will develop, troubleshoot and optimize our fiber production processes. They will identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, yield and productivity and then lead them to fruition. The Manufacturing Engineering functional group is responsible for determining manufacturing methods and writing manufacturing assembly documentation in order to assemble high quality, highly engineered hardware for use in space and sea applications, while complying with all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety requirements as well as all applicable Quality requirements.

In this role, the selected candidate will support and coordinate with the controls group and plant personnel to improve overall equipment operating efficiencies; supports efforts for continuous improvements of safety, quality, and cost.
The Automation and Controls Engineer is responsible for managing projects to fulfill internal customer objectives including the design, engineering and development, and installation and commissioning of automated production systems. This position involves close interaction with numerous functional disciplines along with the factory shop floor.
In this role, the candidate will plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
This position is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including: requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, and product software design, verification & validation.
