Assure adherence to company financial policies and internal controls, regulatory compliance, and generally accepted accounting principles. Develops and implements financial policies and/or procedures as needed.
Responsible for all aspects of patient accounting areas including daily supervision of inpatient, outpatient, cashiering, collection, payment posting, follow up activities, denials, underpayment agency assignments and oversight of out sourced functions.
Assists in the opening of new accounts to ensure sound systems and procedures are in place. Manages the control of regional assets, including the capital expenditure process, change funds, inventory and equipment.
The controller is to assist the hospital Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in safeguarding hospital assets and ensuring the financial statements, including the books and records, are prepared and maintained in accordance with GAAP.
