Last week I shared with you fifty examples of jobs accepted in the past month by members of TheLadders. This week, I'd like to highlight fifty of our friends that are hiring… right now!
We’ve launched an improved search functionality to make it easier for you to find your next $100k+ job. The technology is pretty impressive, but what I think you’ll be most excited about is our new “specialties”.
You may know that we have two human beings review every single job, recruiter, and job seeker to make sure they’re appropriate for our $100k+ job site. That’s right; two live, flesh–and–blood human beings right here at our corporate headquarters in New York City review everything. That’s the best way we’ve found to make sure that we stay true to our promise to be the site for only $100k+ jobs and job seekers.
Well, the inventive people who build TheLadders.com have added a new level of information that, I hope, will help you get to your next job even faster. We’ve sub–divided each Ladder into specialties to make our categories more relevant to you. So now you’ll find that TheLadders.com is further refined into these specialty areas:
| Finance - | Accounting & Controls Banking, Lending & Insuring Corp. Fin. & Strategy Planning Financial Advisors Investing & Investment Banking Risk Management & Quantitative Analysis Tax & Compliance |

OK, so remember how I mentioned that we have two live human beings review each job before we allow it on TheLadders.com? Well, they could use your help getting even better at categorizing the jobs in your field. So if you ever find that we have mis–categorized a job, you’ll notice a button on the left that says “Notify Our Team”. Click on it and let us know which specialty it does belong in.
What else did we include in our new search capabilities? Quite a bit:
Filters – you’ll see an extensive set of filters along the left–hand side that let you zero in on the specific jobs you’re looking for – by industry, by location, by specialty, by level and by posting date. And as you select, or unselect, the search results update automatically. I actually call it “auto–magically” because this is such a great new feature – check it out for yourself, though.
Jobs Close to Home – When you sign up for our service, you indicate your zip code. This allows us to have a geographic frame of reference for where you’re looking to work. By default, we show you these “jobs close to home” first, so you can get right to it.
Saved searches – you can save any search you’re doing and get the results emailed to you regularly. What I think is even better is that the saved searches are all available to you right on this page – you’ll see “My Saved Searches” on the right–hand side of the search bar.
OK, so, look, I know how it can be when one of my favorite web sites changes things. “Aaargh, why do I have to learn a new system?” I may cry out into the internet wilderness. Change can be good, but a lot of times our initial experience as users is that change costs time and effort.
So we really don’t take it lightly when we decide to do a major overhaul like this. But we’ve studied and studied it, and we really do think this new search and filtering technology is going to make your life a heck of a lot better.
So, please, try it out for a few days by clicking here, and then let us know your feedback – how would you make it even easier?
And, finally, I’d like to thank the big brains behind this beautiful new search page – our colleagues Gustavo, Mona, Simon, Leslie, Deena, Lauryn, Jesse, and Sharon, and a list of other All–Stars too numerous to name here, have suffered, sweat, and not slept for weeks to build this, and I trust they have all of your thanks, as they have mine.
Thanks, Readers, and I hope you’re off to a tremendous Monday!
