The customer is god

Folks, the Japanese have an expression: "o-kyaku-sama wa kami-sama desu." Or, "The customer is god." (That's a small "g", Readers, no need to get blasphemous!)

And that's how strongly we feel about you, our loyal subscribers, and the more than 30,000 recruiters who use the site to hire you. Our first rule here at TheLadders.com is "Love the Customer."

That's why we answer 99.2% of all e-mails within one business day, and 88% within three hours! That's why we have a real, live human being write you back, and not some annoying auto-response. That's why we have "live chat" on TheLadders.com -- it's the green glowing button in the upper right hand corner of your screen -- so that we can answer your questions right now.

But we're always looking to get better at "Loving the Customer."

And that's why I'm in Japan this week: to learn how we can get even better at making subscribers like you happy on their way to finding a great new role in life.

I've brought my team over here for training from the world leaders in "loving the customer." By attending classes on customer service and visiting companies out in the field, we hope we can make your $100k+ job hunt easier, more effective, more convenient, and, most importantly, short.
