Bye-bye!

As we’ve learned more about getting you connected with your next job as quickly as possible, we’ve studied all the different parts of our site and our system in order to make improvements. And one big conclusion we came to was that both job seekers and recruiters wanted us to have the ability to post and view resumes.

So we are saying “bye bye” to our old concept of a “Bio” and welcoming “Resumes” on to our site.

Here’s what this means for you:

1) Progress – On the top right of the My Resume page, you can see the “My Resume Progress” module. To get to 100% success, you need to upload a resume, edit and approve the information, add some additional info about what you’re looking for, and submit your resume to our experts for a critique.

2) Bios to Resumes – we are now calling the information you use to connect with recruiters your resume. Makes sense, right?

3) All New “My Resume” Page – you’ll notice a new “My Resume” tab. This is where you can upload and create your resume, and also where you can request resume help from our experts. Everything you need to manage your resume on our site, and make sure your resume is the best it can be, is located in one easy–to–use place.

4) Easy Resume Upload – You can now upload or create a resume in one step. Once you’ve done so, we’ll take the information in your resume and assign it to specific sections for recruiters to review. You’ll then be asked to verify all information, as well as include a few additional details to make yourself stand out from the crowd.

5) Confidentiality – Confidentiality can be important in the job search, particularly if you’re currently employed. So, of course you have the option to keep your personal and contact information completely confidential. At the same time, we have heard loud and clear from recruiters that they much prefer to know your name and current company. If you must, please use this confidentiality feature; but please do realize that it comes at the cost of making your resume a bit less transparent to those who are looking for you.

Well, Readers, that is how we do it here at TheLadders.com – always trying to make the system better, always building something to get you into your next great $100k+ role in life faster. We certainly hope you’ll enjoy our new resume functionality, and we sure hope it sees you find success even more quickly!
