Are You Making It Easy To Hire You

So let me guess...

Hunting and pecking around the internet to find your next great $100K+ job isn't your cup of tea?

You'd be just fine if you could skip this "searching" nonsense and go directly to starting the next successful chapter in your life at your next great job?

Did I guess right, Readers?

Well, of course, we all want to find our next great $100K+ opportunity, not search for it.

Now it's your turn to guess.

Q: Who else, do you think, feels this same way?

A: $100K+ Recruiters!

Whether they work at a hiring company or an executive search firm, a recruiter's job is to get a great candidate into that $100K+ opportunity as quickly as possible.

I spent time this week on the phone with some of the 4,000 recruiters who are using TheLadders.com. We've got folks from Cendant to Merck to Google to Wachovia to JP Morgan Chase and thousands of others sending us their $100K+ jobs, and it's always good for me to keep in touch with what's going on in RecruiterLand.

And most recruiters I talk to have likes and dislikes.

They like chatting with great candidates, interviewing, selling, and making really great connections between people and jobs.

No surprise there, I suppose. Folks who make their living in the "hiring biz" are people-persons!

What are their dislikes?

Posting a job on Monster or Careerbuilder and getting flooded with an avalanche of resumes.

Then having to dig through those piles and piles of unqualified candidates for the few diamonds.

And then having to deal with the cockamamie technology systems imposed on them by Corporate - yuck!!

No surprise again: "people"-people would rather be chatting with you than swimming in the vast Internet Ocean of Resumes.

And that, dear Readers, is why I started TheLadders.com - to bring together two groups of people separated by the vast, murky Internet.

So are you making it easy for recruiters to find you? Here's how to do it:
  • Make your resume easy to scan in 20 seconds or less - that's how much time a recruiter spends on first glance.
  • Get your resume professionally written - you'd never write a product brochure if you had no experience with the buyers, would you? So why do it with the most valuable product you'll ever sell?
  • Focus your job search on jobs you have the background and experience for. Chasing crazy dreams on the internet is easy, tempting...and a waste of time.
  • Apply for jobs via niche and specialty sites - in addition to TheLadders.com, recruiters lurk on industry association websites and tiny regional job boards.
  • Once you find a job listing, don't just lob in a resume. Lob in a resume and follow up with your contacts to find a person "on the inside" who can help you make your pitch.

And here's how I designed TheLadders.com to help you even more:

  • Just like any Club, our cover charge lets in only serious applicants - that way recruiters know they don't have to wade through a tidal wave of internet muck to find you!
  • By being free to recruiters, we see more $100K+ jobs than anybody else out there.
  • So let's see. We have the highest quality candidates, and no cost to the recruiter. It's not tough to see why recruiters love to use TheLadders.com to fill their $100K+ jobs.
  • And because we don't accept money from hiring firms or recruiters, we aren't conflicted. There's NO temptation for us to accept cheesy jobs that aren't $100K+ (go ahead click here to search for $100K+ jobs on Monster. Do you really think this job -- "$10K to $50K/Month !!!Life Without Limits!!!" - is the type of job you need to be applying for?)
  • Everybody who upgrades to TheLadders.com Premium gets a free 15-minute consultation with an expert resume writer, and $50 off their full resume package.
OK, Readers, if you make it easy, I'll make it easy; and we can get you hired in a jiffy!
