VP of Training and Development

The Vice President Training and Development will be responsible for the following: 

Partnering with Operations as a key client throughout all training initiatives to deliver high customer satisfaction and successful sales and profits Designing, Implementing and managing an integrated Buffets, Inc. Training, Development and Career Path system for all levels of employees 

Ensure a fully integrated training and development platform (from hourly to store management and above) is at the center of Buffet’s employment cycle 

Lead the industry in key innovative training and development practices within 3-5 years as measured by key business results, employee loyalty and retention, leadership development results, and industry recognition  

Assisting Executive Team providing organizational clarity around the company mission, values and actual behaviors; collaboratively and creatively working to close identified gaps  

Be a clear persuasive voice for guests and employees in all you say and do  

Actively reflect our people, values and culture at all times while influencing the organization and executive team through daily actions, behaviors, and impact 

Effectively lead and manage direct reports and their functions while moving the Department to best in class over a 3-5 year period  

Provide internal performance consulting services to teams throughout the company as well as change management programs to facilitate implementation of new programs, processes and initiatives  

Collaborate readily and respectfully and having the courage to challenge other executives as appropriate

The desired candidate should have seven to fifteen years of demonstrated success in design and implementation of effective hourly and salaried training platforms with a systems orientation, especially in technology platforms for delivery of programs.

Must be organized, an innovative problem solver, highly collaborative at the Officer and Executive level and possess an ROI mentality and methodology for evaluating all training and development programs.

The ability to identify training and development best practices as well as hire and retain top talent is critical.

Exceptional oral, written and verbal communication skills are essential as well as the ability to break down processes and policies into their discreet parts and communicate those to all levels within the organization.

Must be a self-starter and have the ability to act on non-performers with finesse and urgency when necessary.

Possess a willingness to “roll up sleeves” as well as demonstrate the resourcefulness required to function well within a lean environment.

Has a disciplined approach to planning and prioritizing short and long-term objectives, and will be skilled at filtering and disseminating best practices.
